Since then, new social networks have emerged every year with different functionalities or aimed at different groups. Pinterest , for example, a social network that collects images - mainly for inspiration - and allows users to store them on boards and pin them, was created in 2010 and, 9 months after its launch, already had 10,000 users. The network has more than 445 million active users per month .
Google+, for its part, was the online giant's big failed attempt : it emerged in 2011, as a social network owned by Google, which reached 10 million users just two weeks after its launch. After 3 weeks of afghanistan number data operation, it already had around 20 million. A network that made great efforts to challenge others such as Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Vimeo or Tumblr, but which - unfortunately - closed its doors in April 2019.
Twitch, the reference platform for gamers (2011)
Twi t ch arrived on the social media scene in 2011, and was an early trend-setter due to its focus on the growing gaming market. Its creators, Justin Kan , Emmett Shear , Michael Seibel and Kyle Vogt , had previously experimented with a live video platform, Justin.tv (2007) . This was originally a sort of reality show about Kan's life, where he documented his daily routine with a camera he wore on his cap. However, as it did not have a large audience, its creators decided to open it to the public in October of the same year, sparking great interest in the Internet community.
