Technological progress is not slowing down and, although it is happening slowly in some sectors, future forecasts predict the digitalisation of jobs.
If the gender gap has not been closed by then, the consequences of this new reality will have a very negative impact on women, leaving them out of the new, more in-demand digital jobs.
Closing the gender gap in the digital field is essential, not only at a social level, but also at an economic level. Companies are increasingly demanding professionals from the ICT sector and women are increasingly less likely to access these careers.
It is therefore urgently necessary to include women in technological studies to ensure equality in the digital sector and for digital transformation to bring benefits for all.
In order to alleviate this inequality, Womandigital was born , an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Employment, Business and Trade of the Andalusian Government. The platform is offered bosnia and herzegovina phone data as an open and collaborative meeting point in which to provide solutions to the problematic low participation of women in the ICT sector. This support facilitates contact between movements, people and entities interested in collaborating. It also offers an interesting compilation of studies about the digital world and the role of women, very useful for expanding the data that we have been collecting in this article.
Recommendations
The study carried out by Digitales offers, among many others, the following recommendations:
Promote female participation in technological studies by identifying and making visible leaders in the sector .
Whether through the use of more inclusive advertising, or through conferences, forums or talks in which professionals in the sector showcase themselves and present their achievements to serve as role models for new generations.
Review of the educational system .
The proposed changes are based on two aspects. The first is based on the immediate need to provide proper gender education to eliminate stereotypes that hinder social progress. The second suggests a review of technological studies to offer more practical and attractive training to society in general and to women in particular.
Greater inclusiveness in companies .
What can we do to combat this situation?
