Everything can be done online, you can't think of anything that we can't (fortunately!) arrange, buy, find, conclude or research online. If you work in the online world, you (hopefully!) always focus on the - often latent - need of the customer. But what if you are dealing with traditional products or services? Where offline predominates? In markets that are still old-fashioned or locked? Then they need to be overhauled! For the consumer. Because they deserve that, right?!
Innovating for a market with only winners?
How do you use the power of innovation to better connect online and offline? Everyone knows the well-known innovation examples in traditional markets: Coolblue, Uber… But there are other great examples, such as Opendoor or Tikkie. Under the motto 'Stop optimizing, start innovating' , spotting opportunities in markets that lend themselves to innovation and digitalization is mega important. Because that is precisely where big noticeable differences can be made!
Don't just think about process innovation, but especially about service innovation. Entrepreneurs in the online sector are constantly moving in the middle of this tension field. Wanting to innovate, break open markets, shake things up and help with modern techniques, privacy and user-friendly design . Where you learn from the best practices from other industries and get inspired to do things differently elsewhere.
Shaking up a market, without kicking it. Because a characteristic of innovation is that it is more sustainable if not everyone in the current market feels attacked. So: offering solutions that are radically different for the customer, but where the knife cuts both ways. Innovations that lead to a market with winners across the board. Isn't that what innovations – renewal and improvement – are all about?

1. Provide a clear and explainable vision
Innovation is interesting, but it is not always clear where you are going. Innovation is not a goal in itself, it is a way to get somewhere. So make sure you have a clear and explainable vision. Can you clearly explain what exactly you see for the future of your market, product and/or service? Where you are going? The clearer the vision, the easier it is for others to understand where you want to go. And… the easier it is for people to actually see it happening!
2. Work fast, it doesn't have to be perfect
Innovation is renewal and that means that time can be a limiting factor. Do you believe in it? Don't doubt! Don't get stuck in processes unnecessarily, but do. Act fast, it doesn't have to be perfect (yet)! The faster you are live, for example with something small in the form of a minimum viable product , the sooner you get feedback from customers, users and bystanders. That feedback helps you to further sharpen the vision and innovation steps.
