Social media, e-commerce and the influencer phenomenon have significantly increased consumerism among younger generations.

However, if until now we thought that both millennials and centennials were more wasteful consumers than their predecessors, it seems that things are changing.

At least that is what a survey carried out by Clique on women between 14 and 36 years old shows, and which Adweek has put into an interesting infographic that reveals that these consumers are increasingly more selective when it comes to purchasing products.

In fact, more than half of respondents from both generations say they prefer to spend money on higher-quality products rather than those that allow them to save money.

Likewise, 69% of millennials say they buy fewer but better things than in the past, a percentage that, in the case of generation Z, is slightly lower, at 51%.

Regarding the categories in which respondents prefer to opt for quality, fashion is the taiwan phone number first option for both generations, millennials (86%) and centennials (89%).

This is followed by the home (77%), beauty (76%) and entertainment (75%) for millennials, and beauty (78%), entertainment (74%) and wellness or fitness for generation Z (55%).

Likewise, the desire to reward themselves, the fact of feeling good or that things are going well in their personal life are the three main reasons that lead the respondents to make purchases.

Where there are more differences is in the budgets that each generation is willing to invest. And while millennials, for example, would have no problem spending $1,600 or more to travel, centennials start from a lower cost of around $1,200.

The case of investment in home furniture stands out, a category in which while millennials set the starting price at $990, centennials reduce it to $354.
