New Environmental Act
In 2021, the new Environmental Act will come into effect. A promising law that will turn twenty-six laws and hundreds of regulations into one law. A legal feat that should make it a lot easier for governments, residents and companies to get plans realized. This mainly concerns plans in the field of spatial planning, nature and the environment, summarized in the word 'environment'.
This not only places demands on those governments, but also on the residents. How do we help them on their way? If they come up with an initiative, they are also responsible for communicating their plan themselves. Carola de Vree wrote an interesting blog about how we can strengthen the communication skills of residents before the Environment Act is in place .
In 2018, more and more other qualities are being asked of the government. Just look at the trends described here: hypertargeting, the use of data, digitalization and (now really) putting the citizen first. At the same time, Yacht concludes in a recent study that the government is not yet recruiting for these new qualities. This will really have to change in 2018. Perhaps the HR department should steer the process of innovation much more!
Collaboration is essential in 2018
